I'm not going to mince my words: my house is a mess. Lately, mundane chores such as folding the clean laundry, have fallen to the bottom of the "to-do" list. I think I had three loads of clean laundry sitting in the hallway for a full week. It just seems that our apartment is getting smaller and smaller, and somehow it's getting harder and harder to get things done! Today, for instance, I had great ambitions of housework. Like the baskets of clean laundry blocking our hallway. Usually getting these things done is not a matter of "can or can't", it's a matter of "will or won't"... but today, it was just CAN'T. Jack refused to be cooperative. He didn't really want to sleep, he just wanted to eat. All day. And when he wasn't eating he was fussing, or perhaps even napping, but as soon as I would set down his beautiful sleeping self, he would wake up and demand to be fed again, or ELSE. So, all I got done this afternoon was a few wonderful chapters in my book. Which is fine, but I really was beginning to feel claustrophobic about the laundry situation and the leaves that were tracked into the house and strewn about the carpet. Which I blame the apartment management for, because they were supposed to clean up the PILES of wet leaves forever ago. But, like my laundry, they have procrastinated.
On another, more festive note, I have managed to wipe out a good chunk of my christmas shopping. And I'm extremely pleased with myself because I am awesome. The only problem is because my house is so small and crowded and laundry-strewn, I have no good place to put said awesome christmas gifts and so they also feel a bit like clutter. No worries, I shall soon wrap them and place them under our christmas tree, which is crowded between the couches in the corner, and you won't be able to see them.
Jack is one month old today. Happy One Month Birthday!!
Ps. I DID eventually fold all that laundry today. I just had to wait until Garrett got home so he could hold Jack. I'm not like, a totally AWFUL housekeeper. :)
