This time of year makes me want to live in Central Oregon. It's so beautiful out there, and it's so damn rainy here!
Jack and I have remained cooped up in the house the past two days- its way too hard to try being out and about in weather like this.. and what's the point? We just put up christmas lights in the window and it's sooo cozy. My favorite thing in this yucky weather is turning on music and curling up on the couch with jack and a book and listening to the wind and rain. And Jack thinks the lights in the window are fascinating. I've learned a few things about being a mom in the past month.. like, it's OK to take a shower and leave Jack in the swing. We'll both survive. Getting things done around the house isn't easy when you have a little baby that doesn't want to be put down and why would you deny him? Especially when he gets that look on his face, with his lip sticking out and such SAD eyes! OK, I'll hold you FOREVER! Also, just because you gave him a bath doesn't mean he won't pee on himself two minutes later while you're dressing him... and then spit up on himself half hour later! And I'm sure I'll keep learning many more special little lessons. :)
I finished Christmas shopping and wrapping presents, which look so beautiful under the tree, it's a shame they have to be opened! Maybe we should have trees in our houses all year round...
