out like a lion?

What a fabulous start to spring we're having! Hail storms, rain storms, SNOW STORMS? Intermittent sunshine.. I think the Willamette Valley is battling with manic depression. But I'm not concerned because the tree outside my window is still trying to bloom and Tuesday is the first day of April! And what do April showers bring....? May flowers!! And what does May bring? Baby Avery! My sister-in-law Courtney is due to have their little girl May 20. I can't wait!

At the risk of sounding dorky, Garrett and I have become amateur bird watchers. Since my family lives in Monmouth, we drive out there pretty frequently and have become familiar with the avian life along the stretch of highway between here and there. It's exhilarating to be the one to spot a bird. Not sissy birds. Fabulous birds. Such as Great White Egrets and Blue Herons, Falcons and Hawks, Vultures. These birds make our drives like African safaris! We decided we need a pair of binoculars.
Yesterday we had a fun little time with Garrett's fam in their fabulous almost finished dining room/kitchen! We played a rousing game of Apples to Apples and celebrated Casey's birthday with a classy and delicious ice cream cake and a couple bottles of fine Whiskey:
Happy Birthday Casey!!
