Dear Jack,
You're nearly 4 months old now, and you've already grown so much. The changes in the past weeks have been many and constant. Although it's very cute how you try and scoot yourself forward on your tummy, it's necessary to learn to roll over before you begin crawling. You're almost 20 pounds now, which is absolutely breaking my back, and you're little feet just about hang off the end of your carseat! You've grown into a schedule now, which is handy and annoying at the same time. For instance, how you wake up around 7:30 every morning bright! eyed! and! ready! to! play! But you're so cute that I force myself to wake up enough to chat with you. Because your little giggles and chuckles are so precious. Also, you have this fascinating talent for drooling. It goes everywhere! It's never-ending! It's as soluble as super glue!
Watching how quickly you're growing into a little man is exciting and desperately alarming at the same time. I love every new thing you learn to do, every new expression, but I am caught off guard at how rapidly you are leaving your tiny-little-babyness behind you! I keep glancing back at the photos of you when we brought you home for the first time and I just have to blink back tears because my little boy is growing up too fast!!! But I love every moment of it. Even when I change a thousand diapers a day that smell like sour poo. Because you look at me like I'm amazing when I have you up there on that changing table. What are you thinking? Gee thanks mom, that diaper felt awful. Your the best.? I'll never know.
You love to grab things, especially my hair, which seems to have no problem falling out on its own, and with your added help it comes out in chunks. You think that the carpet is fascinating and blame it on all the leftover hormones, but I almost get choked up with how lovingly you smile at your daddy. And how you love your daddy! The bond between you two is so precious, I feel like you already appreciate "guy time."
Love,
Mom

OK, so just choke us all up!
so sweet.
some of the things in there that you said about Jack kinda remind me of jake, it seems as though garrett's children have a common bond. (excessively large, especially in the head, constant drool, supper sweet, etc.)
